Aim of Ergonomics
General Ergonomic Principles
- All work activities should permit the worker to adopt several different, but equally comfortable and safe postures.
- Where muscular force has to be exerted it should be done by the largest appropriate muscle groups available.
- Work activities should be performed without unease, discomfort and pain.
- Work environment should be free of unhealthy exhausts, particles.
Use of Ergonomics
- Designing work stations that have the previously mentioned characteristics.
- Advising people about working postures
- Correcting the already damaged body through corrective exercises.
- Designing information in an easily understandable fashion.
- Designing work environment where light, sound levels and particulate matter is properly managed.
- Designing protective gear for violent environments.
